This afternoon, my sister and I walked around Walden/Sawhill Ponds. We saw
the Tundra Swan reported earlier by Pasquariello and at least one female
Barrow's Goldeneye
on Cottonwood Marsh. There were 2 Bonaparte's gull at Cottonwood Marsh.

Then we tried to count the Great Blue Herons nests to the west of Walden
Ponds. We counted
10 occupied nests. There could be more because it is difficult to see the
ones in back. But
since the leaves are still not out it was easier to count than it was last
year.

On our way back to Cottonwood Marsh we saw a Wilson's Snipe fly over and saw
2 Greater
Yellowlegs on Cottonwood Marsh.

Good Birding,
