Hello all,

Mike Henwood, Michael Kiessig, Lois Levinson, Rob Raker, and I did some birding
in Jefferson and Boulder today. At Red Rocks Park, the Prairie Falcon and
Peregrine Falcon pairs were both present and easily seen. The Curve-billed
Thrasher and Harris's Sparrow both put in appearances at the Trading Post
feeder during a brief early morning visit. A pair of Red-breasted Mergansers
and numerous Horned Grebes were seen (distantly) at Valmont Reservoir in
Boulder County. At Cottonwood Marsh at Walden Ponds, the Tundra Swan and
Greater Yellowlegs reported earlier were seen. The two Bonaparte's Gulls
reported earlier were not seen, but there were two Franklin's Gulls in full
breeding plumage. We also saw two Tree Swallows. The male Mandarin Duck was
easily seen at Prospect Lake in the Wheatridge Greenbelt.
