We were just treated to an excellent, up-close (maybe 30 feet away)
view of a pair of Osprey, perched in a tree immediately alongside the
driveway through the apt complex on Smith Res (Jewell and Kipling).
The pair, after much vocalizing, then took off over the lake, and flew
back and forth for several passes, dipping several times in hopes of
supper. No luck on the zen moment of seeing one of them snagging a
fish. But then, they were probably more disappointed in that than I
was.

Common Merganser persist here, daily now for a week or two.
