I was delighted to find hundreds of Tree Swallows feeding above Holcim Wetlands, several miles east of Florence on CR120. Now Double-crested Cormorants have joined the Great Blue Herons nesting in the cottonwoods adjacent to the wetlands. I didn't walk in (maybe a quarter mile) as I had a number places to cover before the winds came. More on other Canon City area birds in a little while.
