This morning, in a walk around Manitou Lake before the hurricane gusts start
blowing, I had FOS song sparrows and red-winged blackbirds.

The American Dipper is on nest inside the dam. Male is bringing in food. But
since I don't see the female make any feeding trips; or even leave the nest,
I assume the young are not hatched yet.

The lake is over 50% ice free and should probably be completely free by this
weekend.

Had American Crows in pairs everywhere, and all collecting sticks. Not sure
if I had witnessed this before, but I had both individuals of a pair
bringing sticks simultaneously to the same nest. Usually seems as though the
male is mate-guarding instead of collecting - but not this pair at this
time. This one nest already had the base created and the pair was adding
fine twigs.

Bluebirds, both mountain and western, showed up Wednesday in northern Teller
Co - at least my first sightings. Had a FOS Killdeer yesterday.
