As I believe I posted back when this bird was first reported (I'm not sure),...I had a calling Bobwhite at Alameda and Havana in 1981-2 (lots less poulated than it is now...fields where houses now exist. Quincy and Tower, as you know, is very near Quincy Reservoir, which has a large expanse of fields around it, esp. to the south. So I would leave open the question of whether or not it is an escaped bird or not.

I had a Northern Bobwhite at my feeders and water this morning at sunrise.
I assume it is the same bird reported back in December and was first seen,
as the bobwhite flies, about 150yards from my feeders. This is the first
time I have noticed it, but it's actions around my yard and the water
suggest to me was not it's first visit.
It was suggested at the first siting, that this is maybe an escaped bird
from a hunting club east of my place. Pretty cool yard bird none the less.
