Hello birders: We have been hearing an owl call on our block on the west side of Washington Park in Denver for the last few weeks and tonight spotted it with a flashlight in a tall tree in our alley. It is screech-owl size and has a screech owl type call. We cannot figure out whether it is an Eastern or Western and have never seen or heard either in the city.
It's the alley between Corona and Ogden Streets, on the block between Kentucky and Tennessee Ave. We typically hear it an hour or two after dark. Any thoughts?
