Just a reminder that as I posted in prior years, the public viewing area for
Lesser Prairie-Chickens near Campo has been closed and continues to be
closed due to serious declines in the population. It is essential that
those interested in viewing this species cooperate with the U.S. Forest
Service
order<http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5120153.pdf>that
prohibits "Going into or being upon the Lesser Prairie Chicken Viewing
Area, annually, from March 1 to May 31."

Public (free) viewing is still open on the Cimarron National Grasslands in
Kansas<http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/%21ut/p/c4/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gDfxMDT8MwRydLA1cj72BTJw8jAwjQL8h2VAQAzHJMsQ%21%21/?ss=110212&navid=110000000000000&pnavid=null&cid=FSE_003741&recid=12421&ttype=recarea&navtype=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&position=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&pname=PSICC+-+Lesser+Prairie+Chicken+Viewing+Areas>
.

Private property viewing is available near Granada for a fee at Arena Dust
Tours <http://www.arenadusttours.com/>

Please be aware that there is concern that Lesser Prairie-Chickens are on
the edge in Colorado and we may lose this species in our state.
