Hi COBirders, Excellent flying day here early. Warm, sunny and calm, accompanied by much soaring, then windy again after 11:00, and sightings diminished. In addition to soaring birds, it was busy over the foothills with people flying as well - F-16's, military helicopters, military transports, tour helicopters, parachutes at the Academy, trainer planes, commercial jets, along with a screen of soaring swifts and ravens, and pigeons acting like falcons - very distracting!
Nevertheless - many migrant raptors early: Golden Eagle - 1 local Red-tailed Hawk - 1 local, 12 migrants Prairie Falcon - 1 local, plus one migrant male - looked paler than the one I'm used to seeing Cooper's Hawk - 3 Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1 Com Raven, - 12 White-throated Swift - 15 Happy migration, Steve Brown Colorado Springs -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
