Yesterday I found a flock of over a hundred White-faced Ibis in flooded
agricultural fields at the edge of Florence and one gorgeous Glossy Ibis. I
got some fun photos of White-faced Ibis bathing that I have uploaded
to myBirdsAndNature<http://BirdsAndNature.blogspot.com>and such but
could not get a photo of the Glossy (disappointing as the blue
lines framing it's face would have made a colorful photo). There were also
3 Lesser Yellowlegs there. I looked again today in both Florence and Canon
City where flocks of ibis have been foraging since last week but could not
relocate the Glossy (and only found one White-faced Ibis). It may still be
around in some ag fields that I am able to access.

There are also hundreds, more than 500, Franklin's Gulls also feeding in
agricultural fields, especially those just cultivated (brings up the
insects) in both the Canon City and Florence areas. I enjoyed a smaller
flock of about 75 that flew over my house this afternoon, making their
presence apparent by their loud calls.

There is also a late Snow Goose hanging with a flock of Canada Geese that I
have seen several times in the past week in a local pond and also in farm
fields. This is an immature bird and I suspect it may be the same one I saw
last month a few times with Canada Geese at Holcim Wetlands just east of
Florence.

Still many Evening Grosbeak at various locations around both Canon City and
Florence. And there are Cassin's Finch still here, and I have heard them
singing (BNA says singing is "concentrated during breeding season")???
