Randy Lentz just called me. About one hour ago he watched a Tricolored Heron walk/hop up Plum Creek (in the creek bed) from the Plum Creek delta. He then walked over to the foot bridge and walked downstream in an effort to relocate the bird without success. His description of the bird ruled out Little Blue Heron and was spot on for Tricolored Heron. The Plum Creek delta is located just north (at the end of the dirt trail) from the Plum Creek Picnic Area.
It's snowing there now, but I suspect this bird will remain through the day, if not longer.
