I ran up to Georgetown this morning with Glenn Walbek and
Gene Rutherford. We search for the reported sparrow and did
not hear or see it.
Here are the top eleven reasons we decided to go:

We thought that there was a chance the bird could have been a Rustic
Bunting, similar in appearance.
We thought that it could have been the first Clear Creek County record of a
Chestnut-collared Longspur.
We have never seen a Rufous-collared Sparrow in Colorado.
We wanted to add a bird to our "Escaped Cage Birds List."
We thought that the bird might carry a band from Tierra del Fuego.
We wanted to study hybrid Rosy-Finches at the feeders.
We were told at the Georgetown Information booth that no one in town kept
caged sparrows.
It was a lovely day in Georgetown.
Chores awaited at home.
We heard that left-over eggs Benedict from the Mother's Day brunch at
Rosie's Diner were being offered at half-price today.
We are trying to think of the eleventh reason.
