Peggy Hankins and I found a beautiful male Rose-breasted Grosbeak along
Clear Creek today. We were a short distance east of Prospect Park, on
the north side of the creek. It was on the south side of the creek
about 20 feet up in a tangle of old cottonwoods and other deciduous
trees, singing almost continuously. It was about 11:30 A.M.
We returned to the spot a couple of hours later, but did not find it again.
To drive to the location, take 44th east of the park a few blocks to
Moore, drop down to 43rd street. Look for where the small wooden fence
ends. There is a yellow and green fire hydrant across the street and
nearby. We observed the bird from the dirt path there.
