Whenever I travel east on US36 to go birding I always stop in Last Chance. Partly because of the little migrant trap but also because of the comfort facilities there. I'm sure many other birders have made good use of this 'oasis on the plains' over the years, it certainly gives a special meaning to the placename 'Last Chance'. Those portable toilets are paid for and maintained by the Woodlin Lions Club. If you've stopped there you've probably noticed their sign on the fence, giving their mailing address and a plea for financial help to maintain those facilities. I recently met a member of the Woodlin Lions at the Karval Mountain Plover Festival and was told they're having trouble raising enough money to keep those toilets there. Knowing that birders in general are a generous and kind sort I thought I'd bring this to your attention. Also knowing that many birders often drink too much coffee before leaving their Front Range abodes for trips out onto the prairie I hope you'll share my desire to keep this option open for all of us. Here's the info for the Lions Club: Woodlin Lions Club 25435 County Road L Woodrow, CO 80757 Kevin Corwin Centennial, CO
