Whenever I travel east on US36 to go birding I always stop in  Last Chance. 
 Partly because of the little migrant trap but also because of  the comfort 
facilities there.  I'm sure many other birders have made good  use of this 
'oasis on the plains' over the years, it certainly gives a  special meaning 
to the placename 'Last Chance'.  Those portable toilets are  paid for and 
maintained by the Woodlin Lions Club.  If you've stopped there  you've 
probably noticed their sign on the fence, giving their mailing address  and a 
plea 
for financial help to maintain those facilities.  I recently met  a member 
of the Woodlin Lions at the Karval Mountain Plover Festival and was  told 
they're having trouble raising enough money to keep those toilets  there.  
Knowing that birders in general are a generous and kind sort I  thought I'd 
bring this to your attention.  Also knowing that many birders  often drink too 
much coffee before leaving their Front Range abodes for trips  out onto the 
prairie I hope you'll share my desire to keep this option open  for all of
