Birders, I went over to Marston to check out Mike Henwood's Scissor-tailed Flyc and eventually found it about 1/4 mi south of where he reported it. I got to the end of Layton Way but declined to walk into the "open space" as there is a sign there stating that the area I think Mike was describing is marked as a "Bird Sanctuary No Trespassing". It wouldn't have done me much good to go past the sign anyway as I don't believe I could have gotten very close to where the STFL was hanging out.
I scanned from the cul-de-sac and saw the STFL flying out from the big grove of trees to the south of Layton Way. It would sit in the trees to the west of the fence and sally out to the east of the fence, hence the 2 counties as I believe the county line is the fence. It was much too far away for a picture. I watched the bird (sometimes using a scope) until about 7:30 when it flew out and I lost track of it. I stayed for another 20 min but didn't see it again. Great find Mike.
