Birders,

Today we did our monthly bird walk at Barr Lake. There were NO Western
Tanager's (they were everywhere else) or many migrants to speak of. The
best birds were:

Common Loon (alternate plumage)

Winter Wren (near the end of the Niedrach trail at the east end of the
tunnel of trees)

There were only 3 warbler species and 2 thrush (Swainson's and Robin).

The Bullock's Orioles have returned.

There were 2 Osprey at the platform just before the banding station but they
were flushed by a boat in a restricted area that cruised right under the
platform. The area under the platform is not restricted and at present, I
can't see any efforts being taken to protect the Ospreys platform from
disturbance.
