During the snow on Wednesday 5/11, we had what seemed to be a family group of 3 black-headed grosbeaks land on our deck rail and pick up sunflower seeds that other birds were dropping from the feeder. One seemed to be a female and was feeding what must have been an immature from last season. The male, though, had way too much white on its wings.
