Just had an Ovenbird in my yard near Quincy and Tower in Aurora. Knew I had something different scratching in the dirt, and first thought it wa Northern Waterthrush as it was in the shadows. Got the binoculars just as it came out into the light and there was no mistaking the orange crown, eyering, and the heavy streaking. Unable to get a photo as the neighbor's dog chose that time to bark, spooking the bird. Hope it comes back for a photo shoot.
White wing Scoter on Friday and now an ovenbird in my yard. Pretty cool weekend for me!
