Hi all,

While performing a bird survey for Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory on
private and open space land near Eldorado Springs this morning, I found
several good birds:

   - Northern Mockingbird -- 1 along Eldorado Springs Drive early this
   morning, between Saddleback Lane and Senda Rocosa St. (a long-overdue county
   first for me);
   - White-eyed Vireo -- 1 singing along the north edge of the riparian
   tract about 1 km NE of the Mesa Trailhead (at 39.947913,-105.248424, for
   those inclined to precision);
   - Gray Flycatcher -- one giving its "whit" call and dipping its tail in
   the same tree as the White-eyed Vireo;
   - "Traill's" Flycatcher -- just north of the Gray Flycatcher;
   - Black-chinned Hummingbird -- a pair, apparently on territory, in a
   private yard along South Boulder Creek. This bird has quietly established
   itself as a breeding species in Boulder County in the past few years, and
   should be looked for in riparian habitats.

Other migrants in the area included Hermit Thrush, Audubon's and Wilson's
Warblers, Gray Catbird (possible breeder?), and Clay-colored Sparrow.
