Coen asked that this message be forwarded to CoBirds for those interested in owls.
Greetings, Brenda and I lead five cars of owlers up to Jack's Cyn. In route a large black cloud was threating to the west but we hardly got a drop. The wind went down to only a light breeze. The lights of Grand Jct. reflecting off the clouds make it seem like twilight. We tried for Common Poorwill several time on the accent but we could only hear winnowing snipes. Once in Jack's Canyon we were able to locate Flammulated Owls. They came in very close to us but everytime we tried to put a light on them they would fly. It just never got dark enought to settle the owls down. On up the canyon we did find a Saw-whet Owl. The owl was very excited and flew all around us but never perched in view. Could someone out there forward this message to Cobirds as everyone that has in interest in owls can have this info.
