Quite a few unusual species were reported around Lake Estes yesterday and today. Probably the most unusual was a Red-necked Phalarope. We first spotted this bird near the Big Thompson inlet yesterday afternoon and it was still being seen at several locations along the north shoreline today.

Other seen were a Short-billed Dowitcher, Blue Jays, Eastern Kingbird, Gray Flycatcher, Olive-sided Flycatcher, Northern Water Thrush, Blackpoll Warbler and Lark Bunting.
