This afternoon I watched a female tanager that looked pretty good for a scarlet. It was the same size and shape of the Western tanagers that have been dripping from the trees the last couple of days, but it was plain yellowish green all over, without wingbars, quite unlike the Westerns. I suppose it could have been a summer tanager, but the bill did not seem any larger than a Western tanager's. It flew off to private property. I'll repost if I find it again.
