Nice to hear that Paula refound all the birds, and reminded me that we,
too, had a parula that I apparantly forgot to list. We actually got
fairly good looks at the bird, though it was hanging out high in a big
cottonwood just SE of the group picnic pavilion. I guess that's a
total of ten warblers, and eleven counting the waterthrush at Norma's
Grove. Not a bad warbler weekend for all!
Paula, I'm annoyed that you found a veery (not really, but I hate
missing anything!)- we spent quite a bit of time checking throught the
myriads of Swainson's trying to turn one of them (without success) into
any other thrush (excepting robin, of course). We did manage one
hermit over at Norma's Grove, but otherwise it was Swainson's,
Swainson's and more Swainson's.....

Subject: [cobirds] No. Parula Warbler, Crow Valley, Weld Co.
Hi all,
In the early afternoon today a friend and I birded Crow Valley
campground for a short time. We saw or heard nearly all of the birds
that Norm reported, but, we also heard the (late) No. Parula (making it
the 9th? warbler there). Steve Frye also heard the No. Parula, but
none of us could not find him. No. Parulas typically do not flit
around as much as many of the other warblers, so they can be difficult
to find at times.
Among all of the Swainson's Thrushes was one lone Veery.
