I just got a call from Larry Modesitt who has arrived at the Marina sandspit at Chatfield and sees no birders, no gull. Many of us saw it half way between the parking lot and the tip of the sandspit, picking at a dead carp, around 1:00 PM and after. Peter Gent told me that it was there when he left. IF ANYONE saw where the bird moved to, please call me at 303 204-0828 and post to Cobirds, so guidance can be given to the many birders who will doubtless be arriving after work.
I know that some West Slope birders are arriving in the AM. If I learn anything about the latest location of the bird, I will post promptly. Obvious places to check are the body of the lake and the South Platte or Plum Creek deltas.
