This is 4.3 miles SW of US 84. Baca County: --A f KENTUCKY WARBLER was reported by Leukering at Carrizo work center near Pritchett on May 31. Boulder County: --A Green Heron was reported by Tumasonis at Cottonwood Marsh along the boardwalk on May 31. -On May 29 at East CU Campus in Boulder, Nunes reported ALDER FLYCATCHER, ad Broad-winged Hawk, Blackpoll Warbler, and Indigo Bunting. On June 1, Brown relocated the ALDER FLYCATCHER on the Skunk Creek Greenway path on the East CU Campus Chaffee County: --At Frantz Lake SWA on May 31, Rich Miller reported Worm-eating Warbler, f Black-and-white Warbler, and m Hooded Warbler. --A f Magnolia Warbler was reported by Rich Miller in Salida area on CR 105 in big willows behind a Red Fence. Douglas/Jefferson Counties: --An ad WESTERN GULL was found by Walbek on the Marina Sandspit at Chatfield SP on June 1. Roller reported the WESTERN GULL again early in the morning at the Marina Sandspit on June 2 and then it moved to the Swim Beach. The gull disappeared midday and then returned mid-afternoon to the Swim Beach and later to the east. On morning of June 3, Komar saw the gull flying from the north toward the swim beach and then many birders had great looks at the gull on the swim beach. The gull seems to like Plum Creek Delta area in late afternoon. This is a first state record (if accepted by the Records Committee). El Paso County: --A Caspian Tern was reported by Drummond at Big Johnson on May 31. El Paso/Pueblo Counties -- Chico Basin Ranch Chico Basin Ranch is a fee area ($15/day) --On May 31 by the banding station, Drummond reported a f Black-and-white Warbler. Fremont County: --A Black Phoebe was reported by Moss in Canon City about 1/4 mile west of MacKenzie Ave parking lot where there is a large grate over the Fremont Ditch on May 31. --A Chihuahuan Raven was reported by Moss south of Canon City on CR 79 on May 31. Huerfano County: --An Indigo Bunting has been visiting the Feeder at the Nelders in La Veta as recently as June 1. Contact Polly at [email protected] for information. Larimer County: --A Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by Biggerstaff and a f Magnolia Warbler was reported by Cropper at Dixon Reservoir on May 31. --A BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was reported by Rashid at Lake Estes at Pine Point on May 31. On June 1 at Lake Estes, Matthews reported a Blue-winged Warbler and Wild reported 1 Magnolia Warbler, 1 BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, 1 m RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, and 1 ALDER FLYCATCHER. --A Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by Sparks around 0630 30 m west of Poudre Bike Trail and N College intersection on June 1. Later Bruening refound the bird about 100 yards west at Lee Martinez Park on June 1. Mesa County: --BLACK-CHINNED SPARROW was reported by Robinson singing near the Devil's Kitchen Trailhead on May 31. --A White-winged Dove was reported by Walker at Big Salt Wash Trailhead at the west end of Fuita on June 2. Prowers County: --In the Willow Valley Neighborhood of Lamar on June 3, Leatherman reported a few White-winged Doves, 1 m Northern Cardinal. --At Willow Creek Park on June 3, Leatherman reported Red-bellied Woodpecker. Weld County: --On May 31 at Crow Valley CG, Leatherman reported 1m Black-throated Gray Warbler and 2 Ovenbirds and Shade reported Nashville Warbler and imm Broad-winged Hawk. --At Norma's Grove on May 31, Shade reported m Chestnut-sided Warbler and Northern Waterthrush. The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, June 4 will be to the Pine/Bailey Area led by Chris Blakeslee (303-694-4670). Meet the leader in parking lot just south of Conoco station at Dartmouth and S Sheridan (SW corner across from old Bear Valley Shopping Center) at 0630. Alternative: Meet the group at 0710 at the Pine Junction Country Store on the west side of Hwy 285 at the stoplight in Pine Junction. Bring Lunch and water. Bring clothing for changeable mountain weather. The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, June 5 will be Creative Ways to Learn Bird Sound led by Alison Kondler.
