This morning 24 intrepid birders braved the heat to bird Turkey Creek Ranch south of Colorado Springs on Fort Carson. The walk was sponsored by the Aiken Audubon.
We had a total of 49 species for the morning. Highlights: Lewis's Woodpeckers - 6 (A life bird for several participants) Wild Turkeys - 12 seen in two different spots, but by only a few folks Ash-throated Flycatcher - 2 Warbling and Plumbeous Vireos Yellow-breasted Chats Ladder-backed Woodpecker One surprise - not a single Yellow-rumped Warbler. Good birding! Mel Goff -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
