Folks, I searched for the Western Gull at Chatfield this morning, to no avail. I checked the swim beach, sandspit and the Plum Creek delta, wading through tadpole infested waters. The gull could be hiding out in a new location or may be gone for good. I agree with Christian and now believe the bird is of the nominate, occidentalis race. I base this on the wing pattern, specifically the large, square mirror on P10 and the small isolated black spot on P5. This can clearly be seen in Rachel's photographs of the bird. I will post any updates I receive.
