Hello, Birders.

Bob Zilly and I found some nice birds around Hygiene, Boulder County, earlier
this morning, Saturday, June 25th.

At Pella Crossing, we audio-recorded an EASTERN WARBLING-VIREO. We also saw a
Cedar Waxwing building a nest, and we heard and saw several Common Mergansers
flying over. A fly-by hummingbird was probably a Black-chinned, and a Gray
Catbird was singing its head off. Bobolinks and Savannah Sparrows were in their
usual spot east of 75th Street, and the Great Blue Herons were at their rookery
along the raging St. Vrain River.

Where the St. Vrain River crosses 61st/63rd Street, we heard a RED-EYED VIREO
and we heard and saw an after-second-calendar-year male AMERICAN REDSTART; we
obtained sound recordings of both. Bobolinks and Savannah Sparrows were just
north of the river crossing.

At the north end of 75th Street, i.e. due east of Rabbit Mountain, we heard one
or two CASSIN'S SPARROWS and we saw and heard a CASSIN'S KINGBIRD. Also present
were Lark Sparrows and Vesper Sparrows, plus Golden Eagles at a distant nest.
We saw two Bullock's Orioles out on the prairie here; these were perhaps early
"fall" migrants, as Bullock's Orioles seem to be our earliest molt migrants.
