I believe only seven of us saw the Crested Caracara this morning (mid-morning)
in Bent County, it was east of County Road 26.5, on the hill about a mile and a
half away.  Several people were driving around, and couldn't get back in time
to see it.  The bird flew after a few minutes to the east, and no one has
re-found it as far as I know.  I hope the bird is still there, and will be see
again.  This "chase" was good and bad, since so many people (probably 15 or
more) that were around the area looking for it, didn't see it.

Huge thanks to the landowner and others who let Duane Nelson know about this
bird, and thanks to Duane for letting the word out.  Also, the big thanks to
Van Truan who drove me out there today!!

I was up in the mountains for a few days, and didn't know about the bird until
yesterday afternoon, when Van Truan happened to stop by my cabin, and let me
know about the bird.  If he hadn't, I'm not sure I would have got out to Bent
County today in time to see it.  I think I was very lucky on this one!
