Cobirders :

While atlasing in my Fairplay SE block , Jeannie Mitchell , Jackie
Heyda and myself observed an Eastern Phoebe around a wooden fallen down
outbuilding at the Platte Ranch off US 9 ,which is located about halfway
between Hartsel and Fairplay ( see Page 48 Delorme ). This is I believe a
first
record for Park County and is probably related to dispersal from drought
areas in the SE as on an earlier visit to the block we had Northern
Mockingbird and Red-headed Woodpecker ( another first county record ) .

Platte Ranch is private and a horse riding establishment .For Park
County listers , request permission to look around with Aimee the ranch
owner/manager .
