Boulder County:
--American Three-toed Woodpeckers were reported by Frye near Gold Hill
on July 19.  They were 2.5 miles above the intersection of Four Mile
Canyon Road and Gold Run in a muddy flat area on the right side of the
road.

Douglas County:
--2 Eastern Phoebes were reported by Andrews at the bridge over Plum
Creek at Chatfield SP on July 19.

Fremont County:
--A Black Phoebe and Eastern Phoebe and their young were reported by
Moss on the Canon City Riverwalk near the Sells Lake parking lot on
July 18.

Garfield County:
--A Scott's Oriole was reported by Zerbi 1/4 mile before going into
Prairie Canyon on July 17.
--2 Scott's Oriole were reported by Zerbi off Baxter Pass Road on July 17.

Huerfano County:
--A RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was reported by Nelder at their feeders
in La Veta on July 22.  Contact her at [email protected] for further
information.

Jefferson County:
--Stachowiak reported that the PRAIRIE WARBLER continues at Corwina
Park on July 16.
--A young-of-year Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Plage at
Welchester Tree Park on July 18.

Larimer County:
--A SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was reported by Wild on Hwy 402 about 1
mile east of Hwy 287 on July 21.
--A female MAGNIFICIENT HUMMINGBIRD was reported by Kogler at Tunnel
Campground on July 22.  Tunnel Campground is 5 mile north of Hwy14 on
Laramie River Road.

Park County:
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Drummond on Platte Ranch off of US
9 about halfway between Hartsel and Fairplay on July 19.  Platte Ranch is
private.  To see the bird request permission to look around the ranch
with Aimee the ranch owner/manager.

Pueblo County:
--A White-eyed Vireo was reported by Silverman in Greenhorn Meadows
Park, Colorado City on July 18.  It was at the west end of the
campground where the Park Road crosses Greenhorn Creek into the
campground.
--A Black Phoebe was reported by Silverman about .25 mile west of the
White-eyed Vireo and just downstream on July 18.
--An Eastern Phobe was reported by Silverman in Scroggs Canyon about
.5 mile east of Crow Cutoff Road on July 16.
--Multiple Indigo Buntings were reported by Silverman in Colorado City
on July 18.  The most reliatable spot is at the Greenhorn Creek
Diversion Gate south down an unnamed dirt road just west of mm 132, CO
165.  Turn west after crossing outlet ditch to Gate

Weld County:
--A YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was reported by Elens at Glenmere Park
in Greeley on June 5 and was seen again by Lefko on June 7.  On June
7, Komar reported that the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON appears to be
attempting to nest with a Black-crowned Night-Heron.  On June 28 Lefko reported
the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON feeding 2 young.  On July 22, France
reported that the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was still on nest

The DFO field trip for Saturday, July 23 will be Wilderness on Wheels
led by Chris Blakeslee (303-694-4670) and Nina Routh (303-987-8687).
Meet the leaders at 0900 at Wilderness on Wheels, Grant, Colorado.
Wilderness on Wheels is located 2.5 miles west of Grant on the south
side of Hwy 285 at the foot of Kenosha Pass.  There is a big sign.
Wilderness has a 1-mile boardwalk through riparian and spruce/fur
habitats, including active beaver ponds.  This boardwalk was built for
wheelchair accessibility.  The group will also visit the tiny Bailey
Great Blue Heron Rookery.  Bring snacks and water for this easy-going
half day of mid summer birding.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, July 24 will be to Golden Gate Canyon
Park led by Randy Lentz (303-680-3381).  Meet at 0730 at park Visitor
Center, just west of CO 93.  Main group will bird until lunch.
Birding after lunch optional based on weather.
