Once again Black Swifts are on schedule in Colorado City, SW Pueblo County, with 2 at Graneros Gorge about 745AM, 7-29-11. The Arkansas Valey Audubon Society has a field trip on Sunday, 8-7-11 to look for Swifts. Meet 7AM on the east side of I-25, exit 71. Though far from guaranteed, late July/early August is the best time to see Black Swifts in this area. Other area birds of interest: 3 juvenile Broad-winged Hawks 7-30-11 Greenhorn Meadows Park, Colorado City The White-eyed Vireo present in GM Park since 7-18-11 was not seen on the 30th but there 2 days earlier Dave Silverman Rye CO
