Heading back to CO yesterday I stopped by Bonny Reservoir and 'Lake Linfield'
in Phillip/Yuma. Bonny in Yuma County was very active with 100 Black Terns, 10
Forster's terns, 66 American Avocets with 1 Willet mixed in, 12 Marbled
Godwits, 6 Pectoral Sandpipers, 3 Long-billed Dowitchers, a dozen White-faced
Ibis. There was also a flock of 150 peeps that flew by at a distance to the
western edge of the reservoir. Next heading to Phillips County I came across
two ponds on Yuma CR Y with 80 Wilson's Phalarope and some peeps that were too
difficult to see over the weeds. On the Phillips county side of the lake on CR
2 were 6 Semipalmated Plover, 2 American Avocet, 1 Willet, 3 Long-billed
Dowitchers, and 2 Baird's Sandpiper.
