COBirders,

Around 0830 John Drummond and I viewed flights of first one, and latter a
second Least Bittern (first found by Rich Miller) at Holcim Marsh (Fremont).
I arrived at 0700 with little bird activity in the area. One bittern is a
male (black backed) and the other is a female (brown backed) but we only saw
the birds in flight so I am uncertain if they are adults or juveniles. If I
was forced to guess, I would call the birds flying back and forth, adults.
Although I have photographs of both birds, I don't see any food items in the
birds' mouths but it might be more than a coincidence that the birds are
always seen in the same area and flying back and forth repeatedly to the
same previously described location.
