I went back to Holcim Wetlands along Hwy 120, west of Portland in Fremont County, this morning to try to see and maybe photograph the Least Bittern(s). Last Tuesday morning, I heard one Least Bittern. Today, I saw the Least Bittern twice briefly, at 730am and 758am. I waited another 30 minutes, and decided to leave. I wasn't able to get any photo of the bittern, though I did see two Green Herons there as well, and I was able to get a photo of one of them. Thanks to Rich Miller for finding the bittern, and everyone for continually reporting on these birds. There are other birders very interested in seeing the Least Bittern(s), though haven't been there at the right time so far. Hopefully the birds will stay for a while, so more people can see them.
