Folks,

On my way home from Wray today, I saw a young Red-shouldered Hawk soaring
over Bonny Reservoir. I almost blew it off, thinking it was a Red-tail, but
was glad I didn't. The distinctive pale 'crescents', reddish tail above with
many bars below, and broad wings bowed while gliding tipped me off. It was
heading SE.

Bonny was otherwise pretty much dead landbird-wise, and even fuller than
this spring with very little shorebird habitat.

Oh, and just a few hours after commenting on my futile search for
Mississippi Kites in Wray, I had 4 fly overhead at Stalker Pond today.
