Hello, Birders.

For those of you who will *not* be marveling at the Barn Swallow roost at
Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County, tomorrow evening, Thursday, Sept. 8th, I
would like to encourage you to participate in one or two other events also on
Thursday evening.

First, there will be a "Bare-naked Birding" workshop at 5:15 p.m. Meet at the
Boulder Public Library's main entrance at 1001 Arapahoe Avenue in downtown
Boulder. This walk is free and open to the public. Clothing optional;
binoculars prohibited. All persons are welcome to participate; we will be on a
paved path the whole time, so this outing is suitable for persons with limited
mobility. Also, Spanish-language translation will be offered. The outing is
intended to be rush-hour/commuter friendly. Just walk from the nearest bus
stop, and join us at the library; we'll go from there. The outing will last for
one hour. Leader is yours truly, Ted Floyd; please contact me by e-mail
([email protected]) with any questions. The sponsors of this event are
EcoArts Connections (http://www.ecoartsonline.org), the Denver Regional
Transportation District (http://www.rtd-denver.com/), and the American Birding
Association (http://aba.org/). Gotta love those imaginative partnerships!

Next up is an eBird tutorial at 7:00 p.m., also on Thursday, September 8th.
Continuing with our Boulder public library theme, we will meet at the George
Reynolds Branch Library, off Table Mesa Drive (north/right side), one block
west of Broadway. Broadway and Table Mesa is the colossal, and congested,
intersection in South Boulder; so avoid the hassle, and take the bus, direct
from the Bare-naked Birding event. Check this out: If you are coming from the
Bare-naked Birding event, the bus is free to the first 10 participants who are
first-time bus riders. Woohoo! Anyhow, this hands-on workshop will be led by
yours truly, eBird junkie Ted Floyd; please contact me by e-mail
([email protected]) with any questions. If you're wired, bring your gadget
(laptop with wireless card, iContraptions, whatever). Learn how to be an
eBirder! This event is sponsored by the Boulder County Nature Association
(http://www.bcna.org/) and the American Birding Association (http://aba.org/),
and it is free and open to the public.

Please note: You are welcome to attend one or the other event, or both. Again,
both events are free and open to the public. See you tomorrow!
