Adams County:
--On September 4, McBurney banded female Chestnut-sided Warbler and
Blackpoll Warbler at Barr Lake Banding Station.
--On September 5, McBurney banded Tennessee Warbler and Northern
Waterthrush at Barr Lake Banding Station.
--On September 6, McBurney reported that the Chestnut-sided Warbler
and Tennessee Warbler that were banded earlier were recaptured.

Alamosa County:
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Simmons in the town park in
Hooper on September 2.

Arapahoe County:
--A juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Teuton at Cherry Creek SP on September 5.

Bent County:
--8 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were reported by Peterson at Blue Lake on
September 5.

Boulder County:
--A male American Three-toed Woodpecker was reported by Alex Cruz at
Flagstaff Summit on the ground on downed Ponderosa logs on September
4.
--A Caspian Tern was reported by Deininger at McIntosh Lake in
Longmont on September 5.

Clear Creek County:
--A Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Moore in Georgetown not far from the
Rufous-collared Sparrow location on September 2.

El Paso County:
--A Bell's Vireo was reported by Bill Maynard at Chico Basin Ranch
(fee area) on September 5.
--A Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Hinds at Sondermann Park
in Colorado Springs on September 5.
--A juv Purple Martin and imm Lesser Black-backed Gull were reported
by Peterson at Big Johnson on September 7.

Fremont County:
--A LEAST BITTERN was reported by Rich Miller on August 3 & 4 at the
cattail marsh at Holcim Wetlands.  Miller also reported a Black Phoebe
on August 4.  On August 28, Kibbe reported 2 ad LEAST BITTERNS
and 2-3 fledgings at Holcim Wetlands.   On September
3, Moss reported that one bittern was seen in flight but otherwise no
sounds or sightings of the bittern at the usual spot.  On September 5,
Moss reported no LEAST BITTERNS but did see Green Heron.
--A male Summer Tanager and Northern Waterthrush were reported by Rich
Miller on the Canon City Riverwalk on September 3.  The tanager was
about 150 yards west of the MacKenzie Ave Parking Lot.

Logan County:
--At Tamarack Ranch on September 4, Lee reported Red-bellied
Woodpecker and possible EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE.

Logan/Sedgwick Counties:
--A RED KNOT was reported by Walbek on the south shore of Jumbo
Reservoir on September 2.
--A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Kibbe at Jumbo Reservoir
on September 3.

Pueblo County:
--A Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Percival in Rock Canyon at
the eastern part of the Osprey Picnic Area on September 4.
--In Rock Canyon on September 5, Percival reported Eastern and Black Phoebes.

Washington County:
--At Prewitt Reservoir on September 4, Kellner and the DFO Field Trip
reported 2 Caspian Terns, BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, and Chestnut-sided
Warbler.  The BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was at the outlet canal below the
dam and the Chestnut-sided was at the inlet canal.
--A f CANADA WARBLER was reported by Mlodinow at Last Chance by the
pond behind the restrooms on September 5.  Roller relocated the CANADA
WARBLER on September 6.
--On September 7 at Last Chance, Wild reported CANADA WARBLER, f
Northern Cardinal, Great Crested Flycatcher, 2 Ovenbirds, 1 Northern
Waterthrush.
--At the Akron Golf Course on September 7, Wild reported 1 Worm-eating Warbler.
--A Great Crested Flycatcher was reported by Wild in the town of Akron
on September 7.

Weld County:
--An ad Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Lefko at Windsor
Reservoir on September 2.
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Mark Miller at Crow Valley on
September 3.  It was by a little pond north of the gate at the north
end of the campground.

Saturday, September 10:

Cherry Creek Reservoir.  Leaders: Cheryl Teuton and Dan Brooks
(303-912-3341).  Meet at 0700 at Marina, inside west gate near Cherry
Creek High School. State Parks Pass required.

Waterton, downstream.  4-5 mike hike.  Wear long pants due to bare-leg
unfriendly plants.  Leader:  Hugh Kingery (303-641-8823).  Meet at
0630 at Audubon Nature Center (left turn immediately after turning
onto Waterton/Roxborough road and before DOW parking lot for Waterton
Canyon),

Chatfield State Park.  Leader:  Joey Kellner (303-978-1748)  Meet at
0630 at West (Deer Creek) entrance to park.  State Parks Pass
required.

Lower Bear Creek & Marston Reservoir.  Leader:  Mike Henwood
(303-716-8551 or [email protected])  Meet at 0630 at parking lot
adjacent to the Conoco Station at the NE corner of Morrison Road and
C470.  Will bird Bear Creek Lake Park and Bear Creek Greenbelt in the
morning and Marston Reservoir in the afternoon.

Sunday, September 11

Barr Lake Periphery.  This is mostly driving and does not involve much
walking.  Leader:  Dick Anderson (303-757-4582).  Phone leader or send
email at [email protected].  Meet at 0700 at Barr Lake
Entrance Station.

Castlewood Canyon State Park.  Leader:  Kirk Huffstater
(303-660-9298).  Meet at 0630 at the Homestead.  From CO 86, 0.5 miles
west of Franktown, turn south on Castlewood Canyon Road, go 2 miles to
old entrance; Homestead is first parking lot on the left.  State Parks
pass required.

Barr Lake State Park.  This is a ten-mile, all-day hike around the
lake.  Leader:  DIck Schottler (303-278-8035).  Meet at 0630 at RMBO,
14500 Lark Bunting Lane.  South off Bromley Lane;  from I-76, first
road east of railroad track.  State Parks pass required.

Rocky Mountain Arsenal.  Leader:  Urling Kingery (303-641-8823).  Call
leader to sign up;  limited spaces available.
