Last evening I stopped at Holcim Wetlands on my way back from out of town appointments. I arrived around 6 pm and shortly after it began some intermittent sprinkling followed by rain. Since it wasn't lightening I stood under an overhanging tree branch that kept much of the water off; however, it continued with light to not so light rain for another 45 minutes so I can't say that I watched as well as I could have if I didn't have to keep my head or legs bent so I could fit under the branch. I did not see or hear any Least Bitterns. One Plegadis ibis came in for the night and 2 Common Nighthawks flew around. Thousands of blackbirds species came and went and several hundred swallows of various species began perching for the night on cattails. And more rain.
