Arapahoe County: --An ad LONG-TAILED JAEGER was found by Teuton on the Fall Count at Cherry Creek SP on September 10 and Walbek reported that it was still at Cherry Creek as of 1730. It is best viewed from the Lake Loop. The LONG-TAILED JAEGER was reported by STACHOWIAK at Cherry Creek on the east side on September 11. Boulder County: --A Nashville Warbler was reported by Nunes at Sawhill Ponds on September 9. It was in a large Cottonwood near the Osprey nesting Platform. --A Green Heron was reported by Mlodinow at Cottonwood Marsh on September 10. --A f Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Kaempfer on the CU East Campus at the corner of the Sybase parking lot along Skunk Creek on September 14. Douglas/Jefferson Counties: --2 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Walbek at Chatfield on September 14. El Paso County: --2-3 Green Herons were reported by Pals on the Fountain Creek RP fall count on September 10. El Paso/Pueblo Counties: --At Chico Basin Ranch (El Paso) on September 9, Brown reported that a Ovenbird was banded and a Cassin's Kingbird was seen along Ranch Road. The Ovenbird that was banded on September 9 was recaptured on the 10th. Brown reported a hatch year Ovenbird was banded at Chico Basin Ranch on September 13. --At Chico Basin Ranch On September 14, Webber reported that Magnolia Warbler, Ovenbird, and Northern Waterthrush were banded. --A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was reported by Drummond in HQ Willows/Cottonwoods (Pueblo) on September 12. Also seen was a Northern Waterthrush. On September 13, Bill Maynard reported that the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was seen at Rose Pond (Pueblo), Fremont County: --A possible GLOSSY IBIS was reported by Moss near Florence on September 11. La Plata County: --A Nashville Warbler was reported by Allerton in Durango on the Animas River Trail behind Four Corner's River Sport in Boxelder Trees on September 10. Larimer County: --A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Hopper at Timnath Reservoir on September 14. Mesa County: --A Green Heron was reported by Arnold at Redlands Parkway North Pond on September 13. Otero County: --A TRICOLORED HERON was reported by Oswald at Holbrook Reservoir on September 14. It was in the SE corner associating with Snowy Egrets and Great Blue Herons. . Pueblo County: --On September 10, in Rock Canyon at the Osprey Picnic Area, Percival reported a Blackpoll Warbler near the eastern end of the picnic area near the Arkansas River and several Eastern Phoebes. --On Septebmer 12, Percival heard and saw the White-eyed Vireo first reported by Silverman in July. It was in Greenhorn Meadows Park in Colorado City. Washington County: --At Prewitt on September 11, Mlodinow reported juv Short-billed Dowitcher and BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO. The cuckoo was in trees surrounding one of the ponds just west of the road and a couple of hundred yards south of the parking area near the "caretaker's house". The ponds are on private property, though not posted Weld County: --2 Black-and-white Warblers were reported by Lefko at Crow Valley CG on September 10. --On September 10, Mlodinow reported a calling SPRAGUE'S PIPIT which flushed from a field on the north side of Union Reservoir. --At Crow Valley on September 14, Leatherman reported 1 f Nashville Warbler and 1 Cassin's Kingbird. The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, September 17 will be to Fort Collins Cemetery and Surroundings led by Dave Leatherman (970-416-0193) Meet the leader at 0800 at the entrance to Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, at the west end of Mountain Ave. Exit I-25 at Mulberry/SR 14 (#269). Go west on Mulberry 5 miles to Shields Street, turn right (north on Shields, go just about .4 miles to Mountain Ave, turn left (west on Mountain, and go about 0.8 miles to cemetery entrance.) Must PRE-REGISTER by calling Dave. Meet at 0800 at new Visitor Center. The new Visitor Center can be reached from 64th and Quebec. Turn east onto 64th which becomes Prairie Parkway, go 1/2 mile and take first left onto Gateway. From there the new VC is about 1 mile on Gateway.
