Arapahoe County: --An ad LONG-TAILED JAEGER was found by Teuton on the Fall Count at Cherry Creek SP on September 10 and Walbek reported that it was still at Cherry Creek as of 1730. It is best viewed from the Lake Loop. The LONG-TAILED JAEGER was reported by Stachowiak at Cherry Creek on the east side on September 11. --At Cherry Creek SP on September 15, Walbek reported 1 juv Sabine's Gull and 1 2nd-cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull. --A Blackpoll Warbler was found by Lentz at Cherry Creek on September 17. The warbler was in trees along the shoreline north of swim beach. Boulder County: --A f Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Kaempfer on the CU East Campus at the corner of the Sybase parking lot along Skunk Creek on September 14. --On September 15, Nunes reported 9 juv RED PHALAROPE at Boulder Reservoir. Roller reported that the RED PHALAROPES continue at Boulder Reservoir on September 17 --A 1st-cyc Sabine's Gull was reported by Gent at Baseline Reservoir on September 17. --A Cassin's Kingbird was reported by Floyd along 115th St South of Oxford Road. Douglas/Jefferson Counties: --2 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Walbek at Chatfield on September 14 and Walbek reported that the Sabine's Gulls remained at Chatfield on September 15. On September 17, Kellner reported 7 Sabine's Gulls (6 juv, 1 ad) at Chatfield. El Paso/Pueblo Counties: --Brown reported a hatch year Ovenbird was banded at Chico Basin Ranch on September 13. --At Chico Basin Ranch on September 14 Webber reported that a Magnolia Warbler, Ovenbird, and Northern Waterthrush were banded and Bill Maynard reported a Chestnut-sided Warbler above the banding station on September 14. --Brown reported that the female Chestnut-sided Warbler continues at Holmes Grove and near the banding station on September 16. --A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was reported by Drummond in HQ Willows/Cottonwoods (Pueblo) on September 12. Also seen was a Northern Waterthrush. On September 13, Bill Maynard reported that the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was seen at Rose Pond (Pueblo). --A probable juv LE CONTE'S SPARROW was reported by Bill Maynard at Chico Basin Ranch (Pueblo) on September 17. LaPlata County: --A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Allerton on the Animas River Trail behind Four Corner's River Sports on September 16. --Morris reported 9 ACORN WOODPECKERS at the Rafter J Subdivision in Durango on September 17. Larimer County: --A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Hopper at Timnath Reservoir on September 14. --A male Prothonotary Warbler was reported by Matthews at the east end of the bird sanctuary at Lake Estes on September 16. Wild reported that the Prothonotary Warbler was east of the sanctuary on the north side of Lake Estes on September 17. --A first fall m Magnolia Warlber was reported by Mammoser SE of Fisherman's Parking Area at end of Sharp Point Drive in Fort Collins on September 16. Park in the area for Fisherman, walk east along the paved trail through the riparian area until trees thin and Poudre River comes close to the trail. --2 lst-cyc Sabine's Gulls were reported by Leatherman and the DFO field trip at Timnath Reservoir on September 17. Mesa County: --A Green Heron was reported by Arnold at Redlands Parkway North Pond on September 13. Morgan County: --2 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Mlodinow at Jackson SP on September 17. Otero County: --A TRICOLORED HERON was reported by Oswald at Holbrook Reservoir on September 14. It was in the SE corner associating with Snowy Egrets and Great Blue Herons. . Pueblo County: --On September 12, Percival heard and saw the White-eyed Vireo first reported by Silverman in July. It was in Greenhorn Meadows Park in Colorado City. --On September 17, Percival reported a juv Sabine's Gull at Pueblo Reservoir off the Sailboard Launching Area. --In Rock Canyon, Percival reported 1 Eastern Phoebe and 2 Black Phoebes on September 17. --At Valco Ponds, Percival reported 3 Eastern Phoebes and 2 Black Phoebes on September 17. --At Turkey Creek on the west side of Pueblo Reservoir, Percival reported 2 Cassin's Kingbirds on September 17. Washington County: --At Prewitt on September 11, Mlodinow reported juv Short-billed Dowitcher and BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO. The cuckoo was in trees surrounding one of the ponds just west of the road and a couple of hundred yards south of the parking area near the "caretaker's house". The ponds are on private property, though not posted. --At Prewitt on September 17, Mlodinow reported 2 juv Sabine's Gulls, Short-billed Dowitcher, Eastern Phoebe, Great Crested Flycatcher, Blackpoll Warbler, Tennessee Warbler, and Nashville Warbler. The gulls and dowitcher were in the SW corner of the reservoir. The Great Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebe and Blackpoll Warbler were at the inlet canal, and Tennessee Warbler was below the dam. --At the Akron Golf Course near the wooded bridge at the base of the lake, Mlodinow reported Palm Warbler and Black-and-white Warbler on September 17. Weld County: --At Crow Valley on September 14, Leatherman reported 1 f Nashville Warbler and 1 Cassin's Kingbird. The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, September 18 will be to Rocky Mountain Arsenal led by Dave Rhoades (303-424-8633). Must PRE-REGISTER by calling Dave. Meet at 0800 at new Visitor Center. The new Visitor Center can be reached from 64th and Quebec. Turn east onto 64th which becomes Prairie Parkway, go 1/2 mile and take first left onto Gateway.
