All,

Thanks to Bill Kaempfer for posting earlier. John Vanderpoel and I spent
from 8:30 to 11:15 and 12:30 to 2:15 at the Inlet Canal area of Prewitt
Reservoir in Washington County. In the afternoon we were joined by Joey
Kellner, Dick Schottler and Randy Lentz, which made for a good group. We
saw about 100 total warbler individuals of 10 species:

Canada (1 female)
Black and White (2 females)
Townsend's (1 female)
Tennessee (1 John only)
Nashville (1 but possibly 2)
American Redstart (1 female)
Yellow (1 John only)
Wilson's (Several)
Orange-crowned (2nd commonest)
Yellow-rumped (Commonest)

This was the best, most diverse, most fun set of warblers that we had seen
in Colorado for some time. Also in the afternoon, Joey and John, and then
everyone had good looks at a Cassin's Vireo. This was the species John
wanted to see for his big year, so we were all very pleased about that.
Finally, the group looked at the shorebirds in the SW corner of the Res.
There were 11 species seen with the highlight about 15 Pectoral
Sandpipers, which included both adults and spiffy looking ones in juvenal
plumage,

Cheers, Peter Gent.
