In a news release today from United States Fish and Wildlife Service
announced that, after making a '90 day finding' about 374 aquatic dependent
species, " the Service will now undertake a more thorough status review
before determining whether to propose any of them for listing." One of
those species is the Black Rail, a sought after rarity found in a number of
wetlands along the Arkansas River here in southeast Colorado.

Per this USFWS news release, " However, some like . . . the black rail
historically ranged over much larger areas and have seen their habitat and
numbers significantly reduced."

The USFWS is accepting comments on any/all of the species covered with more
info on their news release<http://www.fws.gov/midwest/News/release.cfm?rid=459>
