Greetings All,

Today Tim Smart and I started at the "BYO PLAYA," location previously given by
Joe Roller and others
Shorebird highlights were

3 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS
1 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER
1 DUNLIN

Also present was a semi-late Stilt Sand, a Pec Sand, bunches of Killdeer, 2
Greater and 2 Lesser Yellowlegs, a handful of Baird's and Least Sands each, 3
RN Phals, and 1 Wilson's Phal

We started there first thing in the morning, when light was good. The numbers
of sparrows/longspurs/larks/pipits was astonishing. Interestingly, we had far
more CC Longspurs than McCown's this week. Vesper Sparrow numbers topped 300
and Sav Sparrows approached 100. One LAPLAND LONGSPUR added some extra spice to
the mix.

We then went to CROW VALLEY CAMPGROUND
There we missed the Palm Warbler and we had fewer than 10 YR Warblers, but we
did have the RB WOODPECKER (apparently first found by Loch Kilpatrick a few
days ago), a RN SAPSUCKER, and a WT SPARROW. No Hairy Woodpeckers crossed our
path.

Tim and I then parted ways.
At the west end of Jackson Lake SP, as passes the "west entrance" but before
the toll-booth, there was a TENNESSEE WARBLER.

Interestingly, the most numerous warbler of the day, for us, was
Orange-crowned. I still have yet to run into a truly goodly flock or
Yellow-rumpeds. I never did find a pulse of Warbling Vireos this fall, and
Swainson's Thrushes also seemed to largely pass me by.

Good Birding,
Steve Mlodinow
