Cobirders:

Sunday 10/2/11 was a busy morning banding at Clear Springs Ranch (CSR),* the
busiest of season, so far.
After the first 30', we had to close the nets for an hour while we caught up
with the banding!
We had six recaptures from earlier this Fall, plus 50 new birds of 9
species.
New for the season was a hatch year male Harris' Sparrow and a Brewer's
Sparrow.
But the high light of the morning was a flock of about forty Sandhill Cranes
flying south along I-25 :-)

Our list:

Brewer's Sparrow, 1
Clay-colored Sparrow, 1
Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow, 36
Harris' Sparrow, 1
Lincoln's Sparrow, 6
MacGillivray's Warbler, 1
Orange-crowned Warbler, 1
Song Sparrow, 1
Warbling Vireo, 2
Wilson's Warbler, 1

10 species
57 birds processed

Next banding session likely to be at CSR Thursday 10/6, starting at 7a

Best wishes,
Dave
