After spending most of the morning with Meredith at the Barr Lake Banding Station (thanks to Meredith for sharing a wonderful morning), Celia Greenman, Jeff Stroup, and myself were able to find the 5 Baird's and 3 Least Sandpipers seen earlier by Doug Kibbe. Before leaving for the morning, we checked out the feeders at the Visitor's Center. Amid the many White-crowned Sparrows(all Gambel's) and House Sparrows, we found a Brown Thrasher and a Green-tailed Towhee in the thick brushy areas east and south of the feeders and the mowed grassy area. The two birds stayed in the thick brush at the edge of the lawn and never did come into the feeders, but flew from one brushy area to another just beyond the mowed grass.
