Townsend's Solitaire is a species that sings all year round. I love to hear
them sing their melodic song (yes, song not just rusty gate call) in winter
since the only other winter singer I hear is the American Dipper. *Birds of
North America *online states, "it is now well established that solitaires
sing throughout year, with 2 annual peaks, in Apr–May and Sep–Nov, in
conjunction with establishment of breeding and winter territories"
