Thursday 10/ 6/11 was another busy morning banding at Clear Springs Ranch
(CSR),*
After the hour, I had to close the nets for an hour while I caught up with
the banding!
We had 4 recaptures from earlier this Fall, plus 34 new birds of 6 different
species.
New for the season was a hatch year male Hermit Thrush.
At about 10a the winds started and my nets looked like spinnakers!

The list:

Chipping Sparrow, 4
Common Yellowthroat, 1
Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow, 21 plus 4 recaps from this Fall
Hermit Thrush, 1
Lincoln's Sparrow, 1
Orange-crowned Warbler, 6

6 species
38 birds processed

Next banding session likely to be at CSR Sunday 10/9, weather permitting,
starting at 7a

Best wishes,
Dave
