According to Steve Jones in Boulder County Nature Association’s Fall
newsletter, p. 7, here are some "who'd a thunk it" birds that bred in
Boulder County in 2011:

“Unusually wet late spring and early summer conditions in northeastern
Colorado, coupled with extreme drought in southeastern Colorado, may
have contributed to the rash of uncommon birds nesting in Boulder
County this year.”
Eastern Phoebes, 4 nests
Great-tailed Grackle, 2 nests
Mountain Plover, 1 nest
Red-headed Woodpecker, 2 nests
Lewis’s Woodpecker, 1 nest
Eastern Bluebirds, 1 nest
Brown Thrasher, 1 nest
Northern Mockingbirds, 1 nest
Orchard Orioles, 2 nests
American Bittern, 5 nests

(BCNA is a great organization worth supporting.)

Good birding,
