COBirders, Late this evening around 5:30 there was a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER on Prospect Lake in Colorado Springs. For directions to Prospect Lake please see my previous post with directions at the bottom:
<http://groups.google.com/group/cobirds/browse_thread/thread/2b37b7c67f39650b> I also stopped by Big Johnson prior to going to Prospect and had an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and a continuing COMMON LOON. Grebe numbers of all species seemed to be down. Still low relatively low numbers of gulls but there were 12 BONAPARTE'S GULLs which is up from a high count of three for me. Just a note when birding Big Johnson. Lately, a lot of the birds have been behind the dam. You cannot see most of these birds from the main parking lot. You can walk the trail that goes east from the parking lot and see behind the dam. Not the closest looks but they could be worse. ----- Mark Peterson Colorado Springs -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
